CATIA is the CAD/CAM/CAE commercial software suite developed by Dassault Systemes and marketed world-wide by IBM. These are ordinarily known as the 3D PLM software. Everthing stages of product development come supported, from either conceptualization, across project (CAD) and manufacturing (CAM) until analysis (CAE). It will bring an open development architecure across interfaces which may be utilized to customize or even respond with applications. A API's are supported within Fortran and C for V4 and Visual Basic and C++ for V5. These API's come known as CAA2 (or even CAA V5). A CAA2 come COM based interfaces. These interfaces provide the seamless integration for products developed on the CATIA suite of software package.
